Trailblazers: Awaken & Listen, Forest Bathing Immersion
November 14 @ 9:00 am – 11:00 am
Trade the digital noise for the whispers of the universe. Slow down, wake up your senses, and receive the forest’s messages along the Des Plaines River Trail.
About This Event
Are you ready to unplug from the endless notifications and drop back into your living body? The universe is never silent—it is constantly communicating with us. It speaks through synchronicity, symbols, and sensory echoes. When we slow down, a sudden morning breeze, the calls of local birds, or the architecture of a single leaf stop being random coincidences and become a direct conversation.
Join us at the beautiful Sunset Bridge Meadow for a magical, 2-hour guided mindfulness experience. Combining the ancient Japanese practice of Forest Bathing (Shinrin-yoku), deeply grounded somatic sensory invitations, and a fluid guided meditation right on the edge of the Des Plaines River, you will learn how to read the “living mirror” of nature and receive clarity for whatever path you are walking. We will conclude our journey with a unity ritual.
Difficulty Level: Easy. This will be a slow-paced walk on a mostly gravel and dirt trail. The terrain is flat. The trail is mostly shaded with some sunny areas. We will walk in and out on the same path. This journey is 2 miles round trip.
Where to meet: Sunset Bridge Meadow parking lot entrance (Located on North Avenue, just east of 1st Avenue in River Grove, IL). Across the street from Costco.
Parking is free and abundant.
Meet Your Guide: Janine is a registered nurse by profession and a forest guide by passion, whose mantra is that true wellness requires us to be healthy in all areas of our lives, mind, body, and spirit. These guided events are designed to restore that vital balance by combining mindfulness with exploring the natural world around us every day.
What to Wear: Travel light so you can focus on the journey. Wear sturdy, closed-toe shoes or hiking boots you don’t mind getting dirty. The trail can be muddy in the morning.
