Join Friends of the Forest Preserves and Friends of Cycling in Elk Grove for the first ever after-dark bike ride through Ned Brown Preserve, more popularly known as Busse Woods! Explore the expansive preserve on the eight-mile bike trail that winds through meadows, woods, and along the shore of the 640-acre lake. Tickets include drinks and snacks, beer by New Belgium Brewing, reflective ankle wraps for riders, a live band, bonfire, wildlife exhibits, flashlight tours of the preserve, and more!
The Night Ride has capacity for 250 participants who will cycle in 10 heats of 25 riders each. You must be 12 or older to participate. The deadline to pre-register as a participant is September 22nd. There will be on-site registration for riders, but wave time will be assigned instead of chosen. If you can’t ride but want to enjoy the event, you can purchase a spectator ticket.
Tickets:
Early Bird Registration: $40 per rider until August 21st at 5 PM- Regular Registration: $50 per rider at on-site registration
- Spectator Ticket: $10 for ages 12 and up, $5 for 11 and under, children 4 and younger are free
In the case of bad weather, the event will not be rescheduled. There are no refunds or cancellations.
All riders must wear a helmet and headlight. We have headlights available for purchase for $15 with your registration.
This event is part of the Forest Preserves of Cook County‘s Centennial Celebration–100 events for 100 years!
When: Friday, September 25, 2015 – 6:00 pm – 11:00 pm. First wave begins at 7:30 pm.
