Wellness Wednesday at Whistler Woods: Seed Collecting Workday
An event every week that begins at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, repeating until October 27, 2021
Whistler Woods Forest Preserve in Riverdale contains oaks up to 300 years old, but invasive brush prevents their acorns from sprouting. Join our volunteer workday to collect native seeds, which will later be spread in areas where native plants are needed. Learn what it takes to restore diverse wildlife, trees, wildflowers, and health in our forest preserves and our river system. And make a real difference in your local forest preserves!
We will be meeting at the end of the parking lot. Please make sure to dress according to the weather, especially as temperatures change. Water is always recommended. We will have snacks.
Masks are required for those unvaccinated.
