Experience the Flora and Fauna of the Forest during Fall Migration on a Bird Walk!

Naturalists and birders of all ages and experience levels are welcome to join this walk through LaBagh Woods. This forest preserve is great for both migrating and year-round bird species, including warblers, woodpeckers, waterfowl, herons, raptors, and more. 

Difficulty level: Moderate; many trails are unpaved, uneven, and muddy.

Parking/Meeting location: Enter LaBagh Woods from Cicero, drive past Grove #1, and park near Grove #3. Then walk towards the Irene Hernandez Grove to the bridge over the river, along the bike trail.

Meet your volunteer guide: Patricia is a nature and birding enthusiast with volunteer experience in ecological restoration and bird monitoring with the Chicago Ornithological Society. 

What to bring/wear: Water, binoculars, camera, sunscreen, bug spray, comfortable clothing, sturdy hiking shoes, and hat.
