The Hidden Life of the Forest Preserves: Palos Preserves

August 5, 2020: 12:00 AM

*WATCH THE RECORDING OF THIS WEBINAR*

The Palos region is the Forest Preserves of Cook County’s largest contiguous area, with more than 14,000 acres of land. Within its boundaries, visitors can see a diversity of habitats, including wetlands, woodlands and prairies; a variety of plants, and abundant wildlife. Due in part to the size and connectivity of the region, sites within the Palos region are ranked as the highest priority for restoration in the FPCC’s landmark planning document the Natural and Cultural Resources Master Plan. Join Zach Taylor, Conservation Director at Friends, to learn about what makes these preserves so special, hear from some long time volunteer stewards that care for these areas, and to learn more about how the FPCC ranks their properties for ecological restoration.

This webinar is part of a series, The Hidden Life of the Forest Preserves in Cook County, Illinois.
