Join North Branch Restoration Project volunteers at this fine oak woodland situated in Chicago. Ancient pine oaks dominate the wetter areas of this woodland. Tall bur oaks stand in the western part, their wide-spreading lower limbs attesting to the open-grown character of the woods in the past. Small ephemeral ponds are graced with lush green sedges. Hundreds of spicebush shrubs are covered with tiny yellow blossoms in early spring, giving way later to glossy red berries.

Youth under 18 must be accompanied by a legal parent/guardian or attend with a chaperoned organized youth group (school, scouts, church). Volunteers under age 18 must have their volunteer waiver signed by a parent or legal guardian.
