Join volunteers from Barrington Greenway Initiative and Spring Creek Stewards to complete the planting of 17,000 sedges!

Sedge Planting with the Barrington Greenway Initiative Pt. 2
Help the Spring Creek Stewards finish their Spring sedge-planting project! With support from partners in the Barrington Greenway Initiative, volunteers will be planting over 17,000 sedges in Spring Creek Forest Preserve this Spring. Planting started in late April, and will finish up on Saturday, May 15 and Sunday, May 16. Join fellow volunteers in celebrating this accomplishment while supporting high-quality wetland restoration areas.
We will be meeting at the Penny Road Pond Parking Lot.
A few things to keep in mind:
- Make sure to bring your own water and snacks
- Dress for the weather and wear layers and/or sun protection
- Sturdy, closed-toe shoes are recommended
- Make sure to wear clothes you don’t mind getting dirty
- MASKS are required
