Hike at Bunker Hill Forest Preserve in Niles
Come out and explore a few of the areas of Bunker Hill Forest Preserve that are off of the beaten path. Whether you already know Bunker Hill well, or if this is your first time to the preserve, you’re sure to see or learn something new on this hike!
The exact hiking route will depend on weather and trail conditions, but we expect to hike 2-3 miles in total, with a few stops to check out interesting spots along the way. If paths aren’t too icy, we’ll walk a few sections of unpaved footpaths. And we will walk through some areas of picnic groves. So please wear sturdy, waterproof shoes, along with whatever cold-weather gear that you’ll need to stay comfortable (think hats, gloves, scarves).
We’ll meet at the north end of the northernmost parking lot at Bunker Hill Forest Preserve, located at approximately 6639 W Harts Rd, Niles, IL. Attendees must RSVP, practice social distancing, and wear face coverings during the hike. If you have been feeling ill, please stay home. For everyone’s safety, we are limiting this event to 10 attendees total. If the hike fills up, we can add you to a waitlist to be notified in the event of a cancellation.
To reserve your spot, please sign up on Meetup.com or email Derek Ziomber, North Branch Field Organizer, at derek@fotfp.org.
