Whistler Woods Volunteer Workday

March 16, 2022: 11:00 AM1:00 PM

Whistler Woods contains oak trees up to 300 years old, but invasive brush prevents their acorns from sprouting. Join a volunteer group that is cutting back invasives and improving the habitat at this preserve. Learn what it takes to restore health to our forest preserves and river system, by nurturing diverse wildlife, trees, and wildflowers.

We will be meeting half-way through the parking lot – you won’t miss us! Make sure to bring your own water; dress for the weather by wearing layers; wear clothes you don’t mind getting dirty and avoid synthetic materials; sturdy, closed-toe shoes are a must.

Masks are not required for people fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Unvaccinated volunteers must wear a mask outdoors when physical distancing is not possible.
