SUMMARY:Bunker Hill Water & Wildflower Walk
DESCRIPTION:Come and discover the many habitats in this forest preserve. We’ll see the river flowing through the preserve as we follow alongside its shores. The group will learn about the floodplain\, prairie and woodland habitats of Bunker Hill. Wildflowers making their spring debut will be pointed out on the way. Waterfowl in the water and hawks soaring overhead are familiar sights here. \n\n\n\nDifficulty Level: The walk will be on both paved and unpaved paths. At times it will move at a steady pace yet the group will stop at other times to view something of interest. Some areas could be muddy. Her particular area of focus is native plants. As a certified seed collector she collects and sows native seeds in conjunction with the North Branch Restoration Project. An avid hiker\, she has formed and led fitness/walking groups for 10+ years. \n\n\n\nWhat to Bring/Wear: Water for hydration\, good sun protection and stury boots are strongly recommended. Insect repellent is needed to protect against various insects.
